I am often asked to break down the compensation plan through Beachbody and since I'm sure other people are wondering the same thing, I'll spell it out below. (It's pretty awesome) Everyone's goals can be different, some coaches are only in the business to earn a discount on Shakeology or even get it for free each month (My paycheck has covered the cost of Shakeology and any fitness programs I order since I started with Beachbody) Here's the breakdown for what it costs to become a coach and how much you can earn. The sign up cost is $39.95 - this includes your first month's business fees and business tools you get sent in the mail. If you sign up for a Challenge Pack this fee is waived. A Challenge Pack is your choice of Shakeology and a fitness program together. This fee is also waived/reimbursed for Active Military and their spouses. If you are a customer who's purchased a Challenge pack and you become a coach you can get reimbursed for that also. The only mandatory on-going cost is a monthly $15.95 - this covers everything from taking, processing, shipping orders, doing the accounting, customer service ect ect. (Plus you save $32.00 on your Shakeology each month when you become a coach so it is still cheaper to be a coach rather than signing up as a customer) How do you make money? As a coach you earn a 25% commission off anything purchased through your Beachbody sites. The commission you earn depends on the product. A bag of Shakeology is about a $32.00 commission, a Challenge Pack commission could be $40 - $100. If you have two challengers join a Challenge with one of the cheaper Challenge packs you could earn over $100. Customers will also often choose auto-ship for Shakeology so they continue to feel amazing but you also continue to earn on it monthly. You get the shakeology commission each month when their order ships. The great thing about the Shakeology commission is that it is not earned by building a team but by helping others get healthy and maintaining them as happy customers. As your customers see their results they will also want to pass the love forward by helping friends and family. This is a business of sharing and as your friends and team share and invite new customers and coaches, you'll start to build a residual team volume income. This is where you start to see a significant growth of income in the form of cycle bonuses. Team bonus cycles can go from $12 - $12,000 a week depending on your rank and volume. Here's a great video breaking it down.. An Emerald Coach earns $12.00 per cycle bonus A Ruby Coach earns $16.00 per cycle bonus A Diamond Coach earns $18.00 per cycle bonus Here is the breakdown of earnings based on rank and averages. This comes from the Team Beachbody Statement of Independent Coach earnings for the year ending in 2012 (it was the latest one I could find) Emerald: Low earnings: $14 Average: $3,353 High Earnings: $261,621 Ruby: Low Earnings: $1,869 Average: $11,011 High: $62,840 Diamond: Low earnings: $212 Average earnings: $18,175 High: $136,818 Star Diamond: Low earnings: $1,299 Average earnings: $90,746 High Earnings: $1,645,484 Believe it or not what sold me on the business was the discount on Shakeology but what keeps me in the business is the Star Diamond Potential. You see I value a thing called Freedom. Freedom to live a life by design. And not any design buy my own. I want to earn the type of income necessary to live a lifestyle my family enjoys and work the hours that I choose. Here's the mission of my team and the energy you can expect. Team Change takes pride and sees value in the journey taken to become happy, healthy, and reverse the trend of obesity. We understand and respect the struggle. We magnify each other's strengths and help strengthen our weaknesses. The 21 Day fix is a workout routine combined with a portion control system that have been optimized and made super simple for anyone to follow. For starters, the workouts are 7 days per week for 3 weeks and only 30 minutes long. The daily workouts include: upper/lower body, cardio, yoga and Pilates. Workouts are broken down into 60 second intervals. You can do ANYTHING for 60 seconds. And of course there is a modifier. If you find you are having a hard time, just modify. It gets easier, promise. And now for the good stuff, the portion control system. Autumn Calabrese designed a color coded container system. Each container is a different color and size. The color is specific to the type of food like veggies for green or proteins for red. And the size is perfect for exactly one portion of that food. If you are allowed one protein, you fill the red container and that is your portion, easy peasy. Below is a list of approved foods for each colored container and there is even an ap available for your phone called "The 21 Day Fix Tracker" that I absolutely suggest yo download for 99 cents. It spells out what can go in each container as well. When on the Fix, your allotted containers depends on your weight and varies from 1,200 - 2,300 calories. Once you know exactly what your calorie intake will be, you can distribute your containers throughout the day and design a meal plan as you choose. I strongly suggest you shoot for 5-6 meals. And be proactive, don't just start checking off the containers as you eat them. Sit down and make a meal plan. This may take a little time up front but will actually save you money. I have cut my grocery bill in half, yes in HALF following the fix. I don't over buy anything and my portions are so much smaller. Here is an example meal plan to give you an idea of what a typical day can look like. The next big thing you have to do is put the food on a plate. DO NOT eat right out of the container. Yes they are cute and convenient but the whole point of the portion control system is to train yourself what a normal portion looks like. So use the containers to measure and then arrange the food on a plate. This really helps train your brain so that when you are in a situation where you do not have your containers or are not on the fix, you have a good idea of how much food you should put on your plate. So follow this rule, MEASURE AND POUR. Want to take the fix to the next level, add Shakeology. Shakeology is your daily dose of dense nutrition and the healthiest meal of the day. And best of all it only accounts for one red container. That's right, just ONE!!!!!! Unlesss you add milk then it adds a yellow. Shakeology comes in 6 flavors and is loaded with everything you are missing. So make the commitment to yourself and give it a shot. With the Empty Bag policy, you have nothing to lose.Lastly, reap the rewards of all your hard work. These are true 21 day results from The 21 Day Fix. What more can be said, the Fix works. And it works because it masters and simplifies the hardest part of any diet program, THE DIET. The fix is not like other programs that severely restrict calories or have you eating only hot sauce and lemon juice or whatever all those other CRAZY diet fads are. You are eating real food and often. You are not hungry and you get in a killer workout that does not kill you. If you are looking for a starter program, this is it. I personally use it and strongly endorse it because it works.
I think it is time that I be honest with myself and embrace the fact that I have totally made every excuse for not following my diet and skipping my exercises. I worked so hard for a year to lose 40 lbs and reverse my PCOS. I got down to 135 lbs which may be high for some but with my muscular 5'6 frame was a perfect weight. I never felt better in my whole life. Here is my original transformation results at about 140 lbs:Then the excuses started..... I sold my house and moved into a rental property until we could find something to buy. Anyone who has every sold a house knows that finding the perfect buyer for your house and the perfect house to buy at the same time and have both escrows close smoothly is very hard. The sun, moon, and stars have to align.....lol. Anyways, life kind of went crazy from that point. We found a great rental but it was not HOME. My husbands health tanked which we later discovered was adrenal fatigue (from abusing pre-workout, don't do it). And of course there is always work and having too much fun trying out all the restaurants in the new town we moved into. So yes blah blah blah, I had tons of excuses to abuse my body and here I am back to 153 lbs. Actually I got as high as 160 a month ago and that is when I really felt like crap about myself. Check it out:These photos I took the night I got home from my Hawaiian vacation in September almost exactly a month ago. I saw 162 on the scale!!!!! I almost cried. How did I let this happen? I mean seriously? The weight just slowly but surely crept on and voila, now my pants don't fit. I can actually pinpoint the exact things that got me back to this point: 1 - Alcohol!!! I got right back to the habit of having too much fun and drinking when quite honestly, there was no need. Check out my article on booze and how is sabotages your weight loss. 2 - Carbs!!! The second I moved down the street to an amazing Mexican Food restaurant, I made a weekly habit of over eating the chips and salsa which are my weakness and this just grew into eating excess carbs daily. 3 - Sugar!!! I started off by rewarding myself for a good job moving and getting through escrow with my favorite Reeses Pieces and before I know it, I was buying all kinds of sweets regularly and after a few weeks, I was right back to having crazy sweet cravings. I am sure my insulin resistance started coming back at this point. 4 - Quit working out!!!!! This hurt me the most because my workouts help with my energy and as I lost muscle, the fat started caking on. I traded those muscular curves for a more dumpling type of curve. Not cool!!! Enough feeling sorry for myself, I have been getting back into my routine and started a program called The 21 Day Fix. I chose this program because the workouts are only 30 minutes long and it comes with a portion control system which is key to dropping the weight. I don't plan to take a year to lose the weight when I know it can be done in a few months. So as of today I am at 153 which is already much better and I plan to be back into my size 4 jeans by Christmas. I will post my full transformation #2 after I complete the program. I just think it is an important step to admit that I am to blame for where I am BUT that I can get back to where I was. For any of you that are really beating yourself up, STOP!!!! Just decide right now to move the slight edge in the opposite direction and every day you will inch your way closer and closer to your goal. I know when I started my first transformation at 174 lbs I didn't know what I was capable of but I wanted it bad and just did what needed to be done every day. Before I knew it, I blew past my original goal of 160 lbs and then 150 lbs and even 140 lbs to end up at 135. NEVER in a million years would I have thought I could get to that weight. Well having started my second transformation, I know this time that I absolutely CAN and have. So never give up. I did it and will do it again. You can do it too. In it together, be the change. Ciao, Jenn If you would like to hear my full story and original transformation, here you go. If you would like to join me in doing The 21 Day Fix, then send me a friend request on facebook and I will get you the details.
I have several roles and each of them is equally important. At first you think “no way”, but each role is somehow related to and attributes to every other role. For instance, my role as a Business Woman contributes to my Engineering career because the personal development and team building I do as a Beachbody coach has rolled over into the way I conduct business as an Engineer. I am a better Engineer for it and it is reflecting in my paycheck, both engineering and Beachbody. My role as a Hard Core health conscious woman has attributed to the Fun Social Jenn because I look and feel better in my skin which allows me to feel more confident and outgoing. My dedication to being a good Furr Mommy and work ethic as an Electrical Engineer contribute to the health of my marriage because they are things that my husband admires about me and are at the core of why we fell in love. My role as a good wife contributes to my Beachbody Business because it keeps me focused. My husband is my partner. I count on the health of my marriage to keep me centered and on track. Otherwise my mind would wonder. It is important to identify all your roles and make sure you are giving 100% effort in all of them. If you slack off in one area because you do not find it as important as another, it will hurt your other roles whether you intend it to or not. There is a domino effect of failing in just one of your roles. Here is an example. Sometimes as people become parents, they begin to neglect their role as husband/wife. They are just trying to be an amazing mommy/daddy but being an amazing wife/husband is also very important especially since you are a role model for your children. Children learn what a healthy relationship looks like from YOU. If your marriage is not healthy, you will feel un appreciated and possibly depressed because at the end of the day children require lots of love and attention but don’t give it back until older. You are pretty much a slave to wiping drool and changing diapers for a few years. So if you are not receiving love and affection from your marriage partner this absolutely pours over into your job and friendships. It’s hard not to take it to work with you and with friends it’s likely all you can talk about or you are just not as social and fun because your mind is somewhere else. So be mindful of this domino effect and don’t take any role for granted and remember to be appreciative of the others in your life for the roles they play. Please share this so other people can be reminded as well.

Do you ever get an itchy sensation when you start a new cardio regimen or just get out and run one day? It starts as a small itchy sensation on the top of your quad that eventually spreads to your whole thigh and even abdomen. It is annoying and really gets in the way of your workout because all you want to do is stop and scratch, which makes it worse. And it is no surprise that the itchy areas are likely your biggest problem areas. Let me explain why. Inside our bodies are major blood vessels and smaller blood vessels called capillaries. There are millions of capillaries used as passageways for blood through our muscles and bodies. When you start a cardiovascular workout, your heart rate increases and begins to pump harder and increases blood flow. As a result, these capillaries begin to expand to allow greater blood flow to the muscles that are working. As these capillaries begin to expand it causes nearby nerves to send signals to the brain. These signals are new to that area since they have gotten little to no exercise and therefore required little blood flow. Our brain interprets these new signals as the need to itch. Annoying right? But don't worry, as your fitness improves the sensation should dissipate because you are in better shape. So once you start moving, and continue moving with regular cardio workouts you won't have to deal with the dreaded cardio itch. I have experienced this itch ever since junior high. I remember every Friday, it was the dreaded mile day in PE (physical Education). I would be super red and scratched up by the time I finished my mile. It always started with me noticing the fat on my legs literally jiggling and within minutes the fat would start itching. As I got older and fatter, especially in the stomach area, I started getting the glorious itching in my abdomen as well. You can see in this video how the shuffle burpees have my belly fat jiggling and super itchy. [wpvideo jndqxn8u] I recently set aside my heavy weights regimen and started on a cardio regiemen using a workout called T25 and sure enough, my legs and abdomen started itching. And I am not over weight. I just have not done high intensity cardio in a while. But I am not going to stop just because my fat is screaming at me, lol. Instead, I will push harder and grin and bare it. Within a week or so it stops. And the lesson learned is to always incorporate at least two days of intense cardio into my workout regimen. Focus T25 is the perfect 25 minute workout to get that done. Checkout my story if you want to see my whole journey with weight loss.
Is inner thigh Gap a Big Deal? Heck yes it is!!!!!!!! Inner thigh Chafing is a very sensitive subject for a lot of women and even some men. For those of you that do not know what I am talking about, it is the resulting rash from inner thigh skin rubbing together under hot weather conditions. It can happen in cold weather but is much worse when it is hot due to sweating and moisture in the area. And it doesn't take long for a rash to appear. I can remember putting on a pair of shorts on a hot day and leaving for school after forgetting to rub baby powder on my inner thighs and being in pain all day after lunch. I would be too embarrassed to go to the nurses office and ask for band aids. I would just walk kinda funny with my legs as far apart as possible and try to avoid walking as much as possible until I got home. At that point, it is too late for preventative measures and its time to medicate and wait the week for the rash to scab up and heal. Do any of these look familiar to you thigh chafing sufferers? I speak from experience because I suffered from inner thigh rashes all summer long ever since I was in junior high. I would look forward to summer because it meant I could use my pool and quite honestly I can't stand cold weather. I am a tropical person, lol. None the less, the one thing I always hated about summer was wearing skirts and shorts. No matter what, when wearing a skirt, you were getting a rash unless you took preventative measures. As far as shorts, you could only avoid a rash if you got shorts long enough to cover the areas that would rub. Does this look familiar? I learned to accept that this was just a part of my life and that I could not buy the cute shorts that I really wanted to wear. And if I did and happened to be good about using baby powder and keeping the inner thigh area dry, I always had bunching of the shorts between my thighs. I looked like the fat pockets on the top of my inner thighs were trying to escape my shorts, ugh!!!! I would be constantly pulling them down and they would eventually be all wrinkled between the thighs and just looked really bad. I knew that my problem was that I had no thigh gap. This is what my thighs looked like.So I started researching Thigh Gap and found my future Beachbody Coach's blog. She had achieved an amazing transformation with a workout called Brazilian Butt Lift. That was enough for me, I purchased it. It arrived at my house within a week and I hit it hard. I followed the workout calendar and nutrition plan and really enjoyed the workouts. There is a lot of booty shaking and I really like dancing so this was a perfect workout for me because I was not bored with it. I started to see and feel results after a few weeks and I remember getting crazy excited the first time I could see a hint of light between my thighs. It started at the very top and was very faint but damn it, it was happening. I completed the program and finally got my thigh gap. I have since moved on to other Beachbody workouts but I always incorporate this workout into my routine because I have proven that it works. I have spent hours on eliptical machines at the gym and tried countless diets but this is what did it for me. Thank you Brazil Butt Lift!!!! Weight loss is not easy. Especially for women with hormone disorders like PCOS. Follow this link if you would like to hear my whole weight loss journey.
Why did I decide to do the Ultimate Reset? I purchased the Ultimate Reset almost 6 months ago because I had heard how amazing it makes you feel and that people lose a lot of weight doing it. I figured that since I am a beachbody coach, I should at least experience it so I can have an honest opinion of the product. I also had a terrible dependency on caffeine. I was drinking about 12 cups of coffee daily and would get headaches if I waited too long to get my first cup. I knew this was a problem and very likely contributing to my infertility. Research has shown that excess of 2 cups of caffeine daily can make it more difficult to conceive and can cause miscarriage. Its no secret that I want a baby so I figured it was worth a shot to kick the caffeine. Truth be told, I was dreading it and continued to put it off. I knew the diet was very restricting and that I could not workout for the full 21 days of the reset. As most people know, the diet part of any weight loss program is always the hardest because you are restricting yourself. It is always easier to add things into your life like working out than it is to remove things you love. For this reason I was quite content continuing with my workout routine and holding on to the last 10 lbs I could not lose because I was not committed 100% to my diet. My sugar cravings continued to plague and inevitably sabotage me from reaching my health goals and the Ultimate Reset sat on a shelf in my closed unopened. My injury ended up having a silver lining Well about two months ago I hurt my knee at work from lifting a really heavy backpack and carrying it on my back all day. It was too much stress on my knee and I further aggravated it by continuing to workout. It got to the point that is was so swollen, you could see the swelling through my yoga pants. And the day my puppy ran straight into my knee and damn near brought me to my knees was the day I said, I NEED A BREAK!! I was not happy about the idea of taking a few weeks away from my workout routine so I figured I would do my body a favor and take advantage and do the reset. If I could not workout my muscles then I would workout my organs with a detox. I started the next day. Week 1 Was Hell!!!! I made the huge mistake of not watching the video that comes with the reset and just kicked the coffee cold turkey on day 1. The video tells you to ween yourself off of the caffeine and sugar. Well.....no slow transition for me. I had a killer headache for 4 days. It got so bad that I literally threw up. I was totally miserable. In the first week, you cut out caffeine, dairy, sugar, red meat, and processed garbage. I already ate pretty clean so the only things I cut out were the coffee and the occasional sweets(maybe 1 per day). So for me, week one was pretty much a caffeine detox. By day 7 I had only lost 1 pound. This was a little depressing because I had heard about stories of people losing up to 10 lbs in the first week and I wondered if I was doing something wrong but I just continued on. I had paid for the Reset and was finishing!!! Week 2 - Life got betterFor Week 2 you cut out all animal protein and are completely vegan. My meals consisted of fruit, veggies, and quinoa. I made a great effort to cook a lot of the recipes in the Ultimate Reset book and found some recipes that I will continue to cook. This was actually my favorite week. I didn't mind the diet any more because I was past the caffeine detox and my sugar cravings were very mild. For the mild sugar cravings I still had, Chocolate Vegan Shakeology came to the rescue. I had it every night before bed. The best part of this week is that I finally started to lose some serious weight. And I was feeling the difference in how my clothes were fitting. My body just felt like it was getting tighter. Week 3 - The Finish Line For Week 3 you continue eating Vegan but cut out more of the grains and try to eat solely vegetables and fruit. I definitely missed eating protein but was not hungry during this week.I also felt very CLEAR by week 3 if that makes sense. I used to feel tired and had a lack of energy most days but by week three of the Reset I no longer felt foggy. I did not have a lot of energy but was definitely feeling clear, fresh, and clean. By the last day of the Reset, I had lost a total of 8 pounds and 12.35 inches. A lot of those inches were from my thighs which is GLORIOUS!!!! The day after the reset, I had my first protein in 2 weeks, an egg!!!!! Oh man did I miss my protein. Once I started eating protein again, I had incredible energy. This energy mixed with the clarity I developed on the reset has left me feeling absolutely amazing. I am able to push harder in my workouts now and here's the kicker..... WITHOUT CAFFEINE OR PRE-WORKOUT!!!!! So at the end of the day, the Ultimate Reset is worth doing. By no means would I do it often but I plan to do it yearly. Kinda like my own body spring cleaning.
I am on day 18 of the Beachbody Ultimate Reset and have seen steady weight loss since Day 1. I started this process at 143.8 lbs. I am 5'6 so that is a totally healthy weight. The morning of day 17 I was 137.3 lbs. Today is day 18 and I am still 137.3 lbs. That being said, aunt flow started yesterday and is at her climax today. I usually gain about 3-4 lbs with my period from bloating and this happens every month. So the fact that I am the exact same weight is a really good sign. My periods usually last 5 days so I will be done with it the day after I finish the reset. I guess I will be completely flushed and detoxed. Nature's oil change, lol. I also did not experience any pre-menstrual spotting. I usually have spotting up to 7 days before my period of just brown discharge, sorry if TMI, but I did not have any this cycle. The second I saw spotting, I was full blown into my period within hours. Another great thing I have noticed with this period is that my cramps are very mild. I am notorious for crippling menstrual cramps but they are very mild......definitely not complaining. I am also not breaking out like I normally do with my period. I know that all of the symptoms I normally experience with my period are driven by hormones and being that I have a predisposition to PCOS, they drive that too. So needless to say this is a fabulous bonus. What I can conclude from this is that either the detoxing or clean diet are regulating and correcting my hormones. It is likely both. I can't wait to see where I end up with my weight at the end of the Ultimate Reset. I took pictures, measurements, and weight on Day 1 so I will share after I am done. Ciao I have had quite the weight loss journey, click here to check it out
